National Kid in Brazil

ナショナルキッドはブラジルで人気だったようで、日本では売られていないDVDも販売されているようです。下記は昔の映画のDVDを販売しているRETROTVと言うサイトからキャプチャーしたものです。

下の方に黄色の文字で示しましたが、「少年グループのリーダー役である原一男は著名なディレクターになり、 ドキュメンタリー『ゆきゆきて、神軍』（1987）で名声を得た」と言うようなことが書いてあります（ポルトガル語には自信ありませんが・・・）。確かに、少年探偵グループの吾郎くん（リーダーではなくグループの「おみそ」）は、原一男さん（インカ族の来襲、海底魔王ネルコンでは原一夫）が演じていますが、「ゆきゆきて、神軍」の原一男監督は1945年生まれなので、ナショナルキッド製作当時は15歳、吾郎くん役は明らかに無理ですし、顔も全く似ていません。また、赤字で示したように、ブラジルでは「旗竜作」が「旗マッサオ」になっています。「リュウサク」は発音しにくいのでしょうか？

ブラジル版・Wikipediaによれば、ブラジルでは64年から70年代の初めまで放映されました。ところが、軍事独裁政権下の法務大臣が「空飛ぶヒーロー物」全般を批判したため突然中止されたそうです。また、「ブラジルでは子供達に大人気だったが日本ではそれほどでもなかった」とあり、90年代にブラジルを訪れたプロデューサー(小池監督でしょうか？）がその人気ぶりに驚いていたエピソードも紹介されています。ところで、ブラジルでは「CELACANTO PROVOCA MAREMOTO！」（シーラカンスが津波を起こす）という言葉が有名みたい（70年代に落書きとして広まったらしい）ですが、これはナショナルキッド第二部「海底魔王ネルコン」のストーリーに由来するそうです。真田博士の台詞、「冗談ではない。シーラカンスは津波のもとだ。今にシーラカンスが津波を起こすぞ。」がこのように訳されたのだと思います。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　

ポルトガル語はほとんどわからないので、自動翻訳ソフトを利用して英訳し、明らかに誤訳の部分は辞書を頼りに修正しました。文章が変なところも多々ありますが、日本語へ直接翻訳した場合に比べればかなりマシで、大体の意味は理解することができます。

National Kid (ナショナルキッド, Nashonaru Kiddo in Japanese) is a Japanese series of Tokusatsu that was displayed in Japan from August 4, 1960 to April 27, 1961. It was produced by Toei Company and displayed by NET (current TV Asahi).

Creation
The series was created in 1960, by order, to serve as merchandising for appliances factory in National Electronics Inc., Panasonic current. The task was handed to the Mangaka Daiji Kazumini, the same as some time later create another space hero, Spectreman. The character should have special powers, fly and fight for peace in the world. The name of the company was useful to help increase sales. The actors were all amateurs and all the episodes were filmed in black-and-white.

一峰大二先生の名前が「カズミニ」とされています。それから、「漫画家」という言葉は「特撮」とともにブラジルでもそのまま通用するようで、「Mangaka」「Tokusatsu」でWikipediaに載っています。「俳優は全て素人」などと失礼なことが書いてありますが、これは誤訳でしょうか？確かに台詞を棒読みの大根役者もいますが・・・。

The opening of the episodes began with the words of the announcer, in the form of a motto:
  That is faster than a jet aircraft, stronger than the steel!
  The invincible knight of peace and justice.... National Kid!
  From there then the theme song of the series was sung.

Synopsis
When the Earth was threatened by beings from another planet, he was appeared with a spacesuit, helmet, mask, hood and glove that saved all and was helped (or interrupted) by various characters. He was National Kid. He was from a star outside our galaxy called Alfa-Centaurus. What characterized this super-hero was his way of flying. Unlike Superman or any other, he flied with open arms. With two pistols, he combated against the opponents. His body struggles with its adversaries were real dances, and he is one of the precursors of martial struggles seen today in films of the genre.

キッドはアンドロメダから来たことになっていたと思いますが、ブラジル版ではアルファ・ケンタウルスになっています。アンドロメダではあまりに遠いと考えたのかもしれませんが、アルファ・ケンタウルスだと「銀河系外の星」ではなくなってしまいます。ナショナルキッドは「四次元の世界を克服し、不可能を可能ならしめ」ることができるので多分大丈夫なのでしょう。

「キッドと敵との格闘は正に舞踊であり、彼は今日の映画分野で見られる戦闘場面の先駆者の一人であった」とあります。敵役のインカ金星人・Z団の動きはいかにもチャンバラ風で、多くは東映時代劇の大部屋役者さんではないかと思います。八名さんは別格としてクレジットに名前が出ていない方も多いようですが、このようにブラジルでは高く評価されています。

Nobody knew that, in fact, Massao Hata had dual identity: he was the National Kid. Two actors played the character of National Kid: Ichiro Kojima started the series, replaced by Tatsume Shiutaro from the story "The Empire under the ground."

The Characters
Massao Hata was a quiet professor whose students were Japanese children Goro, Kura, Yukio, Kioko, Tomohiro and Tiako (the oldest, which took account of the house and minors). His assistant is named Yuriko. There was also the scientist Dr. Mizuno and delegate Takakura with his assistant Hisako.

「チアコ」と「ヒサコ」はチャコ姉ちゃんだと思いますが、竜作の助手はチャコ姉ちゃんだけで「ユリコ」は居なかったはずです。蔵三くんは「クラ」、京子ちゃんは「キオコ」です。

The Stories
The series consists of 39 episodes spread of five stories:

The Incas Venusians
Beings of pointed ears, dressed in a costume with the letter Z printed in shirt, were commanded for Empress Aura. A striking feature was its greeting: "Awika" with the arms crossed. They flied bringing the knees and seemed to be running in space.

The Beings of Abyssal
Governed by Nelkon, the devil of the Kingdom Abyssal, they were going on board the submarine-monster whose name was Coelacanth or Guilton When the fins swung, an earthquake was provoked, hence the famous phrase: "Coelacanth causes Seismic Sea Wave."

ギルトールが「ギルトン」になっています。潜水艦の名前が「Coelacanth or Guilton 」となっていますが、シーラカンスは海底人の正体であり潜水艦ではなかったと思います。　

The Empire under the Ground
The subterranean people commanded by Helltar and Hana with professor Kuroiva searched for the formula of the element Cobalcio, which would bring power to possess.　

ヘルシュタインは「ヘルター」、アンナが「ハナ」、そして黒岩博士は「クロイヴァ教授」です。コバルチウムが「コバルシオ」になっています。

The Zarrocos Space
The Beings of prominent noses commanded the monster Giabra（ギャブラ）. This not only destroyed the cities of Tokyo, Osaka and other lesser known intercession by the National Kid.

The Mysterious Boy from Space
Taro, the boy from space fallen in error on Earth. Then, it is made prisoner by the authorities of the earthmen. The father of Taro with anger threatened to destroy the Earth because of his son. It began the destruction of Tokyo. His son who had been friend of minor detectives (students of Massao Hata) calls upon him so unusual: screaming for his father in the direction of space, without any electronic device for communication, that the earthmen were good people. Thus, his father heard the message and the Earth were saved. Then Taro returned in safety to their planet.

At the end of this story, Massao Hata revealed their identity secret and with the mission accomplished he went back to Alfa-Centaurs with a message of peace and optimism.

Display and impact in Brazil
In Brazil was televised from 1964 until the early 1970 by Network Record and television programs. The series just stopped happening on TV because the Minister of Justice of the military dictatorship, Alfredo Buzaid, criticized all the series that had super-heroes flying.

Although it has been very successful among youth in Brazil, has not made much success in Japan. In the words of its producer, which in travel to Brazil in the decade of 90s was discovered by a reporter that interviewed, said to be surprised by the popularity that the series had achieved in the country.

The popularity exists until today: the villains as the Incas and Venusians, the expression "Coelacanth causes Seismic Sea Wave" are derived from the series. In Brazil, National Kid was in 1993 some of its episodes released on VHS. In the second half of 2002 was released on two DVDs.

今でも「インカ金星人」が悪党の代名詞になっているのだとしたら、インカ人の末裔の方々にとってはお気の毒な話です。

第二話の日本語タイトル「ダブルＺの恐怖」は意味が良くわかりません。ブラジル版の「山田博士の誘拐」の方が内容に合っていて良いですね。
